frequently asked questions
You asked, and we answered! Here are the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions.
You must first book a consultation appointment (this is mandatory in-person so that we can see your natural hair in person). During the consultation appointment we discuss your hair goals, lifestyle and hair type in order to determine which technique is best for you. From there, we can give a better idea on pricing and book your application appointment.
The first appointment is the consultation, which lasts about 30 minutes. During this appointment, we discuss your hair goals and lifestyle and assess your current hair in order to determine the appropriate technique, length and amount of hair to be used.
If you are interested in moving forward after the consultation, you will leave a deposit for 50% of the cost of the appointment, and schedule the application appointment. The balance will be payable the day of your final appointment.
Pricing depends on how much hair you need and what length, as well as the technique used. An average full head starts at $700 plus taxes, and for mega transformations, $900+. Pricing varies depending on the amount and length of hair that is needed to get you to your goal.

The short answer: NO!
When hair extensions are applied by a certified extension professional and the aftercare instructions are followed diligently, there is no danger to your natural hair. That being said, if you do not care for the extensions properly or if you attempt at home removal, your natural hair can suffer. It is a teamwork of sorts; we will work our magic on a flawless application, but you must take extra care of the hair to ensure it STAYS flawless!
Below is an example of a client on her 4th set with us, who after a year's time has managed to grow her hair out to its once healthy-state. These pictures are both without extensions.
The short answer: it depends.
The long answer: Each technique has a different installation time. From quickest to longest:
Tape extensions: average of 30-60 minutes
Weft extensions: average 1-2 hours
I-tip extensions: average 2- 3 hours
K-tip extensions: average 2-3 hours
This depends on what technique of extensions you get, as well as your natural hair's health. If you are opting for a technique where the hair can be reused, the extensions need to be moved up or completely removed and reinstalled:
Tape-in extensions: every 6-8 weeks we do a full removal and reinstallation. The hair lasts 8-10 months with proper care.
I-tips/microbead extensions: every 4-5 weeks we do a move-up, and every 2nd time we do a full removal/reapplication. The hair lasts 8-10 months with proper care.
Weft extensions: every 5 weeks we do a move-up, and eveery 2nd time we doa. full removal/reapplication. the hair lasts 8-10 months with proper care.
Keratin extensions: This method lasts 3-5 months, depending on your natural hair's health. The hair cannot be reused.
We mostly use Bellami Hair, the highest quality hair available on the market.
Something that is extremely important to us is working with suppliers that provide ethically sourced products. Bellami hair is sourced from willing donors who are paid a very fair living stipend in exchange for their hair. The factories they own and operate are also certified by many different organizations that promote healthy and safe working conditions for their workers.
Extensions MTL studio is located on 101-2400 rue du Centre in Point St-Charles. It is a 4 minute walk from Charlevoix metro and there is always ample, free parking on the main and side streets. By appointment only.
Yes, we carry Pureology, Olaplex, Amika, Moroccanoil and Bellami x Matrix in studio.
We recommend using a sulfate-free shampoo, a hydrating conditioner/mask and a good heat protector. Using professional products is HIGHLY recommended. Never use any protein/keratin-based repairing products on your extensions.
You will be given a maintenance guide and instructions during your appointment on best practices for aftercare, but essentially;
Brushing 2x daily

Using hydrating products, including masks 1x a week
Protecting your hair while training, swimming, or boating
